| Shannon is where one of the Irish international airports is located. Shannon is a small coastal town between Ennis and Limerick. It is a fairly small airport. Good food. Nice facilities. Very comfortable as far as airports go. | |
Above left - We left Boston for Shannon Thursday evening after 10 PM. After sleeping for some time, I woke up an hour away from Ireland at sunrise. Beautiful. Above right - After a night of flying, the seat back pocket looked a bit used. Below left and right - As we were on our final approach to Shannon Airport, the plane flew quite low revealing the beautiful Irish countryside below. the farmyard has an interesting spiral hedge that is probably only visible from the air. I was surprised to see a castle from the air. |

Above - Both Linda and I look a bit peaked after being on airplanes for 16 hours (from Thursday morning through Friday morning). Below - Monday after we checked in at the airport and passed through security, we had to wait for U.S. Customs to open up before we could reach our gate area. Nice waiting area. |
|
Above - Finally, we reached the gate area. Almost on the plane. Oops, there aren't any bathrooms in this gate area. Below - Our plane was already at the gate when we reached the gate area. A storm had blown in the night before and blustery squalls were still blowing through. |

Right - We are sitting safely in our seats waiting for our flight from Shannon to Boston. |
