Galway is on the western coast of Ireland.

We stayed in a Best Western in Galway. Large rooms. Decent hotel. A couple of quirks though. The showers alternate between scalding (literally) hot and freezing cold. The toilet takes 30 minutes to fill between full flushes. One of the mattress springs was protruding from a hole in the mattress. The blankets and pillows smelled of body odor in a bad way. Other than that, the hotel was pretty decent. The hotel is about 20 minutes outside of the town center area.

Things you might want to consider about staying in Galway. Stay in the city center area. Lots more to do. More restaurants. Easier access to tours and transportation. Lots more to walk and go, see, do.

Left - Our rental car after I hit the curb and broke the hubcap. The roads are very narrow in places. Also, the Irish drive on the left hand side of the roads like the British. I found it very hard to shift with my left hand and drive on the wrong side of the road at the same time. Thirty years of driving have given me instincts that are very difficult to overcome.
