Smith's Tropical Paradise - Garden Luau and International Pageant is located near Kapaa on Kauai in Hawaii . We invited ourselves to this particular luau through our hotel. While on Kauai, we toured the island by car and went on a sunset cruise. |

Above left - You show up for the luau in the afternoon. Once you get onto the grounds, you are greeted by surely Peacocks. Upper Right - We got on these trams and road around the gardens. The driver pointed out the sites. Left - Pigs are roasted in underground ovens. An underground Luau oven is called an Imu. Below - Larry and Linda - After they do the ceremonial pig unearthing, its time for dinner. We were served on long tables. Our hotel had its own table. |

Above left - There was entertainment while we were eating dinner. Above right - A hula dancer joined the band for a Hula dance. Right - Then they got the kids (and a couple of parents) up on stage to learn some hula moves. Below - After dinner we moved to an amphitheater. The show started and we got watch singing and dancing from the many cultures and peoples that make up Hawaii. |
