See all of the pictures taken in and around the Texas State Aquarium here!

Texas State Aquarium is located in Corpus Christi , Texas. It shares the same parking lots with the USS Lexington. Linda and I liked the Texas State Aquarium better than the USS Lexington.

We arrived just before 11:00 AM, paid our admission and went directly to the dolphin show. After the dolphin show we ate lunch at the Subway sandwich shop on the ground floor. Probably one of the best "attraction" food stands we have been to. Helps to have a tried and true franchise.

After lunch, we wandered around looking at each of the exhibits. All of the exhibits are very well done.

On this trip we first went to Goose Island State Park and enjoyed a genuine White Christmas. Then we moved South to Mustang Island State Park. While staying at Mustang Island State Park, we rode the Port Aransas Ferry, visited the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier, visited the Texas State Aquarium, and drove around the Padre Island National Seashore park. Then we moved inland to Goliad State Park.

Left - There is an underwater viewing area. It works like a giant aquarium. Between shows, the dolphins just hang out and rest. They appear to be sleeping on the bottom of the tank. They wake up every once in a while to get some air before settling back down on the bottom to snooze.

Below left and right - It is so easy to connect with wildlife in these situations.

Above left and right - The turtle tank is very cool. They have a number of very large turtles.

Right - An otter is trying to sleep while the folks viewing him with me are trying to wake him so we can see him do something.

Below left - This eel has a remarkably human face.

Below right - The alligator wasn't very active.
