| Port Lavaca Fishing Pier is in Port Lavaca, Texas. The fishing pier used to be part of the Texas State Parks system. Now it is part of
the Port Lavaca Lighthouse Beach & R.V. Park In fact, the Port Lavaca Lighthouse
Beach & R.V. Park includes the Lighthouse Beach & Bird Sanctuary and Port Lavaca
Causeway State Recreation Park. The day we were there, they had an Arts and Crafts
Show going on. I recommend waking the Formosa Welands Walkway. It has some very scenic vantage points. Port Lavaca is on the Texas Gulf Coast south east of Victoria. We were in the area visiting Port O'Connor, Matagorda Island State Park, and The Two RV Park. |

The Causeway used to be almost a mile long. It kept catching on fire. I still can't imagine how a causeway catches on fire but... To the right is a part of the cuaseway that didn't burn. It still has a green parks department garbage can on it. |
