Additional pictures of the Museum can be found here!

Central Texas Museum of Automotive History is located near Bastrop , Texas.  This museum is about 12 miles south of Bastrop on State Highway 304.  The billboards advertising the museum in Bastrop say they have over 100 cars.   We were thinking "Yeah Right!"  Every weekend that we have spent at Bastrop State Park we have driven by this museum on the way to and from the park.   The museum is literally in the middle of nowhere.  It is hard to imagine they would have over 100 decent cars.

Well, what a pleasant surprise.  They definitely have over 100 cars.  Most of the cars are either rare of special cars in their class for their time.  See the pictures below.   I didn't take pictures of all the cars.  The building is a steel building in a warehouse configuration.  They let two dogs roam the place.  Our dogs and these dogs had quite the bark festival.   The younger (black) dog likes to chase diesel trucks.  He ran along side the highway for quite a ways as we were leaving.

The second row of pictures was taken from the front of the display area looking back.   This is just the front room of the warehouse.  There is another similarly sized room behind it.  You can get a sense for the cars in this museum by looking at my pictures.
